Pros

Good salary, good colleagues. People remained committed even when they were clearly stagnating in a deteriorating situation and working for management that distrusted their abilities.

Cons

No payrises ever - get a good salary when you start. Training was available theoretically but due to work pressures no-one was ever allowed to do any. No career path - no-one ever got promoted. They relied on imported "stars" instead of investing time and energy in local talented potential stars (not me, but others around me) to eventually replace them - they didn't seem to appreciate that even their stars were once learners.
