Pros

They pay you. Not well, but they pay you. Your coworkers are all as miserable day to day as you are. You get paid for training.

Cons

Terrible hours. They try to make them seem like a good thing, but it only alienates you from the normal working world. Compensation is low. It gets better, the 'better' you are at your job. It's still not good. A few people may thrive here, but they're basically door to door salesmen at that point. I should also be clear. Most of the job is door to door sales. "Marketing" is a loose term. You'll be lied to about what you're doing for the company, and then you'll be sent door to door to "market" the company by scheduling people for appointments they don't need or want. Don't drink the Koolaid. I hope all of the guys I worked with got out, because they're not bad people, but the company itself is rotten.

Lies & Deception

Pros

You can make a lot of friends at Power, and it's a guaranteed job for someone who is desperate enough.

Cons

1. They lie to you at the interview. - They will call it a marketing job but you are really just going door to door, in all sorts of weather, asking people to sign up for window and roof estimates. - They say hours are 11-7. However, this is not true; you will be back at the office on most nights after 8pm. You could be in any town within an hour's drive from the office, and most drivers/managers who take you there won't even pick you up until around 8pm, then you have to drive all the way back to the office. - They told me "the worst guy in the office makes $55K a year". In fact, most guys (they don't hire women) make less than $30K a year and can only afford to live with their parents. This is because you are knocking on doors that have been solicited by the same company over and over throughout the years; it is a flooded market. - Most of your co-workers are drug-addicts or criminals who were unable to find another job. They will hire anyone here, regardless of education or background. - They say that the health benefits are amazing. However, to have yourself, a spouse, and one child on your plan, you are looking at a minimum of $400/month taken out of your paycheck. This is NOT an example of amazing health benefits; my current employer gives me the same benefits for $150/month.
