Pros

There's minimal bureaucracy at Pulley and I've seen lots of new hires make drive amazing business results within months or even weeks of joining. Hiring / cultural bar is exceptionally high so I get to work with exceptional colleagues who also turn out to be pretty awesome people :) Leadership is incredibly receptive to people's opinions and pretty accessible considering how busy they are - if you can make a case for an initiative they'll support you and give you the resources to execute on it. Overall Pulley is an amazing place to do high impact work and elevate your career. If you're thinking about starting a company in the future and want valuable experience, this is a great place to be.

Cons

As a quickly growing startup, things are always in flux and there tends to be quite a bit of thrash. Pulley may not be ideal if you're prioritizing predictability on the projects you work on or want clear instructions on what to work on. There was a RIF last year due to a company-wide strategic pivot and for many impacted, their individual goals no longer aligned with the company's new direction. Leadership / colleagues were extremely supportive and personally helped many impacted find new roles that were a better fit for their personal goals.

Pros

- Decent WLB - Worked with some really smart & capable engineers (most are now gone). - Product was headed in a good direction and was probably acquirable for a modest exit sometime in the not-too-distant future (much less likely now).

Cons

Here's the pattern at Pulley: - Management hires a bunch of engineers - Management comes up with product roadmap - Roadmap isn't yielding desired results; honest feedback is petitioned but ignored and/or regarded as hostile. - Management divines new direction; it's sketchy and management struggles to explain it to rank-and-file. - Management decides engineers are the problem and lays off almost entire department. This has happened twice in as many years. If you're an engineer considering joining Pulley be aware that there is no real plan and if the non-plan doesn't work out history suggests a fairly likely outcome.
