Pros

Qualtrics is a great place to work if you're passionate about what you do, are driven, believe in Qualtrics' mission and their optimism, and want to be an engineer. They pall fairly well, have a cool building, lots of perks, and there's a lot of excitement around what's going on there. As a part-timer, it's flexible on hours.

Cons

The company is incredibly full of itself. I get being optimistic, but they seem to think they're God's gifts to tech startups and that their very presence is a favor to planet earth. I get that you're successful, but this culture is a bit extreme. My personal experience hasn't been the best. I'm there part-time, and frequently feel disconnected from the rest of my team, what we're doing, etc. My onboarding process was terrible, and I didn't know very fundamental things about our engineering stack several months in. There are still big things that I feel like I don't really understand, and I have been there for a while now. Communication was virtually non-existent between myself and my team much of the time. I also am constantly switched to new contexts and don't feel that I can get a good grasp on anything before I'm moved to a different piece of the product. A lot of these pains came just because I was there part-time, but it was nonetheless not a good experience.

Pros

- Free lunches and stocked kitchen - Cool and relaxed environment. It's an open plan so if you like the noise, it's great. If not, it's not the place for you. - Co-workers are hard-working, smart and fun to hang around

Cons

- Transparency is talked about at the higher levels and it happens to an extent but not completely. - Low pay because we know how much we're worth in the market. They typically pay 10-20% below market so if you're looking to be valued, look elsewhere. - On the sales team, there's the boys club so you'll want to avoid that if you don't fit their mold - HR seemed supportive in the interviewing process but I've seen candidates in general not get responses or weren't treated well. It feels like that department is ok with burning bridges which is not a good representation of the company if most candidates interact with them.

Pros

Free food (cereal, trail mix, bananas..), fun atmosphere, educated group of people, transparent office, Apple computers.

Cons

Long work hours. My team supervisor would always tell me that they expect new hires to work 10 hour days for the first year or so while they gain clients. The problem is that most of the big-name clients are already taken (and the remaining clients don't really have a use for the product or can't afford it). There is no room for growth and it's very difficult to switch departments. Their biggest department is the sales team and if that isn't a good fit for you, good luck trying to interview for another position. Additionally, the base salary is super low - $30k. Not enough to live off of while you gain clientele. The upper management is trying to be like Google and most of them are extremely full of themselves.
