Pros

It's a good place to start your career - there are lots of young people fresh out of college, as well as a decent amount of opportunities to explore and find out what career paths you're interested in. The work is fairly interesting, and it's very easy to build your technical skills.

Cons

The location is awful, particularly if you are not straight, white, and Mormon. Provo and Orem are about 90% LDS. Salt Lake City is more diverse, but the commute is awful - you're stuck with either an hour on the highway each way (with accidents almost every single day, because Utah drivers do not know how to drive) or a two-hour train ride each way (sometimes more, since the Frontrunner often breaks down or has delays). The company itself is fairly diverse, especially in the L1/L2 roles; however, most people in that role do not intend to stay in Utah long-term.

Pros

Coworkers are some of the best - very high caliber. Excellent facilities. Great health benefits.

Cons

No link between performance and opportunities. No career path. No role or responsibility changes with promotion. No learning opportunities. No clear rubric for advancement. Extreme favoritism, particularly in promotions. CS leadership take all the credit for the good work of their team, but can push off anything bad back to the individual. It is a low-risk, high-reward game for them and a potential dumpster fire for those that work hard below them.

Great People - Terrible Employee Experience

Pros

Great teammates and people. The business is growing fast and there is demand for the industry and platform. People care about their customers.

Cons

The company can’t get their employee experience figured out. 2019 benefits have yet to be announced, no information about how much vacation we’ll have. In addition, promoted equity bonuses we basically forgotten after the SAP acquisition.
