Pros

Lots and lots of experience Chances to do a lot of things Immediate responsibility Acceptable mentorship from other ABMs Company has a known reputation for being rough

Cons

All strategies for global brands are run out of Slough, even if 40-50% of the business is out of the US. Minimal/no market research support Insufficient cross-functional support Products are launched that are known to be failures Company takes Squeeze (cost reduction of products) too far to where products barely work anymore. Negative culture of infighting Review process where you can be reviewed on 25-30 different metrics, and even one or two can hold you back or result in your dismissal.

Pros

You will be thrown into the fire and learn how to manage. In the process you will also be exposed to cost reduction strategies and cost pressures. The company name is a good CPG name but not the best. The pay is decent.

Cons

Reckitt has a negative and hostile culture. Expectations are high and can be unrealistic. There is no positive reinforcement here. Fast pace. Aggressive cuture and it can be aggressive toward you. This company is all about squeezing every last drop out of you like a piece of equipment. They will work you hard and treat you poorly. If you don't like it you can leave. Deliver or else culture. The fact some time you don't deliver could be due to factors beyond your control. They won't care. If you last more than a couple years you are the minority. High turnover and poor working conditions. You are their wage slave, literally. Expect to be treated as such.

Pros

Great benefits and bonus structure

Cons

Each year they evaluate employees on a "bell curve". That means that you may be meeting all requirements and doing well, but by default there will be some employees that will fall into the bottom of the bell curve. Potentially this rating may be cause for dismissal or forlough. Evaluations are basically determined by political affiliations with management. Immediate supervisor visited my district once per year which was not enough to make a determiniation of the performance of the territory and the employees in the territory. Methods of going to market changed frequently, but no feedback was given as to "why the change and the rationale for the change" and should we stop what was previously institued.
