Pros

If you play the game, you will make it. Large company with very diverse product line. Corporate office and perks are nice.

Cons

No work life balance; unreasonable expectations; difficult to get out from under the bus; global company means that senior management roles tend to be filled by leaders from other countries

Pros

The fast-pace of decision-making, the focus on the bottom line, short-term thinking and strategic outlook. International mobility is great if you're willing to relocate to markets other than North America. (Beware though that you get localized after two-years - often resulting in a lower income than what you're getting paid in the US). RB is a very Sales driven organization - expect to spend a lot of time learning and doing what the Sales guys want to do. Unlike the other tier 1 CPG companies that are very consumer focused, RB will give you significant exposure to this area.

Cons

The whole company operates on the mantra of "speed over perfection", which ultimately leads to rushed decisions that are made with either sub-standard analysis, poor information or under-the-gun thinking. There's also a tendency to push for more than what people can deliver in the name of overachieving but this unfortunately results in many good colleagues burning out quickly. No attention is paid to people-development. You own your own career and the managers could care less if you're being properly trained or groomed for your next position.

Pros

Solid pay and benefits, esp for parents with children of those who move countries. In earlier years of my career, promotions came quickly for those who were strong candidates. Felt very meritocratic at the lower levels. The US business - for a yr or 2 - only had directors who were brought in from other markets - implying that Americans weren't fit to run the US business. They slowly balanced this out. However, now, it seems there are only Americans in those roles....this is also a problem. We really need balance and not sure why they don't see that. HR is impoving it's use of leadership classess. Though the classes weren't mind blowing for some they were no dount helpful.

Cons

They squeeze all the fun out the job (inside joke to those who know what RB call squeeze). All we did for 6 months was cut the budget. I prefer to spend my time in marketing, driving topline and brand equity. Promotions are handled badly - when/how it will occur is confusing. There are way too many sr brand managers who have the talent to make the jump and few to none ever make it. Avg talent in other markets have a much easier time moving.
