People abusing work from home

Pros

Ridiculously low pressure environment. People come in late and go early.

Cons

I would say quite some people are "abusing" work from home here since it is allowed and no upper management cares, and they definitely take it too far. Most of the time they don't have a valid reason for doing so. It's not like they have a doctor's appointment or anything they need to take care at home. They make it a routine to take 2 to 3 days work from home every week. That's quite outrageous and their boss won't care. Worst thing is it's very clear they are doing much less on those days. It's their paid time offs and you just know it. This is very demoralizing for those working in office.

The company that will never grow

Pros

Benefits, vacation package, employee pricing

Cons

New CEO cannot care less for his people. All he cares about is profit, sales results and technology. Yet how is going to get all of that without quality people, he hasn’t figured out yet. I’m sure he will soon. He calls the bank a technology company. So go figure if you wanna work here. Managers from old boys club gotta go. There are plenty of them at Scotia. They keep promoting diversity and inclusion but in reality it’s all just words and lies that they are telling the public so they can fit in. Whoever was able to retire or quit - did the best thing to themselves. They always hiring so think twice before you apply.
