Pros

- Large organization with many opportunities in Canada and internationally - A lot of smart and experienced people to work with and learn from - Defined benefit pension plan (now not as good as before) - Employees Stock Purchase Plan - Free / discounted banking services and products

Cons

- Opportunities for promotion become more a more scarce as you move up the ladder - Salary and bonus a bit lower than some of the other big banks in Canada - Lots of reporting and other requirements that distracts from more interesting and at times more value added activities (not specific to Scotiabank only - nature of industry / regulatory driven) - The bank is going through a big restructuring that has been dragging and hurting employees morale
