Pros

Enjoyed working with the company since starting but has changed with new local MD. Great people but leaving fast due to above. Good company looking to differentiate and move with the times. Other benefits but not worth having to put up with changing jobs due to new MD. My ratings are based on today and have been tried to be conservative and would have been higher 8 months ago. People like the COO are experienced and invested in the business and have an open door policy, the local MD has the same open door policy but there is no point talking to him as it would fall on deaf ears. Don't let this review impact your decision working for the company as a whole it is a good place to work, just not in Australia right now, just ask the question how long has the MD been there.

Cons

New MD Micromanages. Makes you feel worthless. Takes the my way or the highway thought process. Not a people person and talks behind others backs. Lacks leadership qualities and the external market is going to find it hard to find talent as it is now well known it is not an employer of choice which it once was. Lot of good people leaving weekly and not being replaced.

Dear Colleague - thank you for taking the time to write this feedback. If you are open to it, I would appreciate connecting directly confidentially so I can understand your views in more detail. We are about to publish the results from our annual employee engagement survey and I hope as always this will give us further opportunity to reflect and improve. As you have mentioned our new MD for Australia has not been in the role for long and is also evolving and adpating to the company - I am sure this feedback will be a chance to learn and improve also. As with any company, we have tasked him with harnessing a high performance team and this will of course also mean change as we address under performance - we will support him to achieve this and as we are all aware, he is as accountable for the results as anyone. It's great that you respect our COO and an advantage that he is also based in APAC. I have shared this feedback with him also and will try to ensure that you and the rest of the Australia business grow and perform as much as possible in the coming months an beyond. Best regards and thank you again, John

Thank you taking the time to provide this feedback - I am obviously disappointed that you feel this way about our management. I appreciate if your role has been terminated it cannot now, or ever ,be a pleasant experience. What I can say is that I don't believe the reason you state would ever be why we would make a change to an employee in SoftwareONE. We have one of the most diverse workforces in our industry (as an example, nearly 50% - 50% Female to Male ratio globally) and are very proud of this fact. We are doing what we can to promote amongst other things gender diversity with intiatives such as "Women in IT" in North America - and we will continue to hire the best people we can. As it happens, 3 of my own team have recently gone on maternity / paternity leave (Chile, Brazil, Germany) and I am looking forward to having them back - I would expect them to be even higher perfomers than when they left as a result of learning from being new parents. Of course, like any company, we have to address under performance and if this cannot be recovered through feedback, performance improvement support or other mechanism then change is inevitable. Having said that, it is our responsibility as leadersto always try to develop high performance - but also help recover when people are under achieving. Given your comments, I will review this process in detail within Texas to make sure this is exemplary. If would be open to it, feel free to write to me confidentially to provide any specific feedback for us to learn from - john.mayes@softwareone.com I genuinely hope that you find a good environment that gets the best out of your abilities and wish you health and hapiness with your family. Best regards, John CHRO
