Pros

Incredible benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, Stock options, Reduced price on Shares), and a tremendous willingness to work with their part-time employees multitude of obligations. Terrific if you like interacting with people. To see the same customers, over and over, is wonderful, and you build a real rapport.

Cons

Very early hours, and wearing on the body with so much time standing. Usually my hips/calves would ache, as well as my back. The breaks are reasonable, happening every 2 hours (in an ideal world), but standing for 6-8 hours, cumulatively, is inherently tough on your body. Also, the coffee, regrettably, isn't the most refined product. Granted, it's my personal palette, but there are many other roasters/coffee companies who have a gentler, and more fully rounded flavor. Starbucks tends to impart a harsher, edgier, and often noted as burnt flavor to their beans. A shame, really, because they really are lovers of good coffee, just different then what I guess I like

Pros

Good place to work if you need benefits. With 20 hours you can get full health benefits. Nice atmosphere. Customers are overall friendly and nice to work with. Nice job for students, especially college grads who can't find jobs in their field of study and need health benefits. You also get a pound of coffee a week and free drinks while you are working. You get a 30% discount on Starbucks products and drinks when you are not working.

Cons

Early morning shifts. Cleaning bathrooms. A lot of cleaning in general. Do not take a job at Starbucks if you are lazy.

Pros

Free Coffee uhh... free coffee, Really I dont have anything nice to say. Starbucks was by a country mile the WORST job I have ever had.

Cons

I was not ever treated with respect or diginity, However I was expected to treat ALL with respect & diginity. I was dissapointed to find that a part timer was hard pressed to actually be scheduled the minium hours required to qualify for benefits. I saw alot of good people get tossed out with the old product because they didnt fit in to the click.
