Pros

Diverse company, maternity/paternity leave, good teams

Cons

Leadership lacks direction. On the quest for inclusiveness, they have excluded the employee's independent thought and morals with hypocritical decisions that benefit only the company in the end and screws over the employees. It was great 5 years ago, but they have lagged behind in career/salary progression. I can make 50% more at another company doing the exact same thing and without being stretched so thin. After a bad partner survey, leadership will ask why the score was so low and would want you to tell them why with no anonymity. They lack the empathy to understand why employees feel so frustrated and make you take "life" training. Yes, Starbucks leadership got scammed into hiring Eitan Sharir to teach "Achieving Excellence," forcing Humanist Idealisms down every employee's throat. How's that for diversity and inclusion? One of the last things, they got rid of internal promotions! You have to tell your manager you want to apply to another role within the company to advance. And to apply to that role, that role needs to open up first and someone has to step out of it, which is rare. You better hope you get along with your management or find another company. Leadership also lacks empathy for employee career advancement. They don't ask what employees want to do and what projects they like and just put you where they please. Don't be too surprise they reorg'd and changed your role right after you accepted the job.

Great place to work!

Pros

Great benefits, including free drinks and a food item during a shift, as well as a generous employee discount. Methodical work allows for formation of muscle memory to make tasks easier. Most customers are friendly, able to form friendly connections with regulars. Managers follow availability, and will approve time off requests more often than not.

Cons

Sometimes high-intensity. Often fast-paced. Can be physically demanding. May have a steep learning curve depending on quality of initial training.
