Worse company to work for

Pros

Only office interiors are good. If you love to gossip, don't want a career but just want to earn money, you can join here.

Cons

Not suitable for women employees. Workplace harassment is very prevalent. Dirty politics, spineless and unethical leadership, worse HR, unprofessional local leadership, useless Zurich teams, toxic and hostile work environment. Bangalore is run by a group of friends who think its their family business and not a billion dollar reputed 150+ years old. No value for employee's skill set and honesty. Slow decision making. Famous for affairs, gossips and rumours.

Swiss Re remains committed to maintaining a positive working environment free of harassment. We hold staff directly accountable for their action, and in some cases, inaction. As a matter of policy, we thoroughly investigate every complaint or concern over offensive behaviour or harassment brought to our attention. We proactively respond to any evidence of harassment, which may include termination of employment.

Run Away

Pros

I can't find any at all.

Cons

Be prepared to be lied to by HR when you go through the interview and hiring process. Be prepared to be told you get pay raises, but you do not. Be prepared to be told you have a work life balance, but they are taking those opportunities away from everyone. Be prepared to be told moving within the company is easy, but it's not. This company acts like they hold high values, but they do not. Be prepared to feel like your job is in jeopardy everyday and to be threatened or sexually harassed if you don't feel out an "anonymous" survey. Be prepared to "work overtime" but never get paid for it. If you are hourly, it's not approved. If you are salary, you are going to be working 50+ hours a week. The company is a joke. My best advice is to run away and don't look back. You will regret your decision to EVER work with Swiss Re.

Extremely unethical and superficial company

Pros

Food and canteen. The breakout areas are good. The ambiance is good

Cons

The Bangalore office of SwissRe is extremely unethical. The local HR is very cliqued and try to establish their dominance on all departments despite no work. A woman at a senior position who works with the local HR in particular is a sour self centred individual and will not work and has no empathy but shows she is always busy. People I know were asked to leave at 2 hours notice and that too very badly. I haven't seen such unprofessional behaviour from any HR that I have ever worked for. They also treat their employees very badly and with no respect but have superficial charm claiming that they are non discriminatory but the truth is that there is staunch racism, sexism and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The company states they are proponents of mental health but I am aware of my colleagues being harassed out of wits by their teams and local HR. All of my colleagues including myself had to take therapy. The political prowess of the local HR is so much that the company will never do well given these politics. They have restructured already several times and are extremely vile people.
