      Overall a great company but with some serious shortcomings

      Pros

      Respectful and pleasant atmosphere to work in. Work is demanding but not overly. Salaries and bonuses (I believe), are still some of highest out there.

      Cons

      Opportunities for progression are very slim. Age and years of service seem to be the ultimate deciding factors, not competence. Real change (not fruitless restructuring as mentioned below) is generally unwelcome with people preferring the status quo (why rock the boat seems to be the overall attitude). Job security is currently a big problem as the firm continues to make ill thought out restructuring changes designed to reduce operating costs in the short term.

      Good products; brand name and some of the people (not the top management) are nice

      Cons

      The culture here is you need to know who is your boss. How to please the boss! Regardless how well you can perform but if you are not your boss' favorite, you will not be able to get any promotion.
