Pros

***Disclaimer: written here are only with regards as working as a product engineer, and as an employee in Baguio and not in other sites*** -One good thing is the benefits. You have quarterly rice allowance given in cash, shuttle service to and from the company location, rainy day kits during the rainy season, free dental checkup per quarter, Christmas bonus, and profit sharing bonus depending on the company revenue for the year. -They implement 5S, and workplace ethics.

Cons

***Disclaimer: written here are only with regards as working as a product engineer, and as an employee in Baguio and not in other sites*** - Salary is too low for an engineer, unless you are a manager. -Work culture and management is bad. You're graded by the amount of projects you have made but management is pushing you more on doing sustaining activities (like machine repairing and disposition of hold lots) and not much on projects. During quarter end, management always tells you to DROP all projects and do sustaining jobs instead. -Employee training are not that in depth because trainers are not expert themselves. Sometimes they just assign someone to do training even that person is not an expert on that field. -Training topics are very shallow, like how to read datasheets and a how to fix a setup, no training on actual topics needed by a product engineer (e.g. device testing methodologies). -Shifting schedule except for managers. This is the only company site in the whole world where product engineers are in shifting schedule. -ZERO amount of team bonding all year, except for the Christmas party. -you virtually can't attend activities planned by the HR since workload of product engineer is heavy. -too many work request from wither your boss or from the manufacturing department that tends to interfere with your activities set for the day.

Pros

The company takes an interest in its employees. My managers were great mentors.

Cons

Having to drive through traffic to get there (of course, that's the same all over the DFW metroplex).

Pros

Company gives you the freedom to pursue ideas and "get things done". Not a lot of red tape.

Cons

Extremely engineering focused. Saw brilliant engineers become horrible managers time and time again.

Poorly managed and toxic HR culture

Pros

Good work/life balance. Fairly competitive comp & benefits. Steady growth and continuous business results in the industry.

Cons

Highly perception driven culture in HR, not performance. Unrealistic expectations of new people (NCGs and exp hires) to look, sound, and act just like the people who have been there for 15+ years. Poor HR people managers given interns and HR NCGs and don't know how to coach or develop talent. Lack of trust in HR community.

Pros

There are no limits on my position. I can grow in my position and continue to help grow our business as an engineering technician along side with managers, engineers, and other fellow TIers. The work life balance issue is stable, and it has been for years. Flexible time and hours from both me and my manager are available. Benefits and profit sharing also help with my total compensation.

Cons

The idea that the grass is always greener doesn't credit TI. We know there are other opportunities outside but look at the whole compensation and stability. About the only con, I can think of, is that there is a saying in TI: the only constant in TI is that there is always change. One day you may be supporting a new and upcoming business, and the next you are moved or assigned to support a legacy business.

Pros

Professional corporate culture, great benefits, solid Fortune 500 company with a respected reputation.

Cons

Can be stifling to innovation and opportunity due to top-heavy management structure. Too many middle managers that impede communication and responsiveness.
