Pros

I enjoy the campus and flexibility to work from home and in office (hybrid). It is a great place for college graduates as well and employees get a sizable amount of profit sharing.

Cons

Work life balance is not bad but sometimes I work nights or weekends but it depends on team/manager. Even though I have had to work outside of work hours often, my manager is understanding and lenient about vacations and remote work.

Pros

None, they're horrible. Lack of good work and disgusting management

Cons

There are many. Toxic coworkers, abusive language all the time, unprofessional treatment, overworking, psychopath managers and just intolerable

Pros

Still some good people there

Cons

Most teams culture is toxic and managers are couple years from college. Some may work but most lack knowledge and experience to lead people and team. Ground engineers are taken credits by those mafia if you're not a tech ladder. Experienced hires are traded poorly and no ownership. Many people at TI especially leaders have no decency at all, and only good at playing politics to steal others credits.

My experience at TI

Pros

There really are opportunities to grow and develop skills through projects. I also had a good overall experience with each manager I had while I’ve been at TI; they have been generally understanding and supportive for the most part.

Cons

TI’s approach to hiring is to bring in a lot of interns and new college grads which is great in some ways because there’s genuinely plenty of opportunities, but the issue is the hands off approach that TI has to most things including project work and everyday responsibilities. There isn’t a great TI-wide culture of collaboration, so simply asking questions can be seen as “hand holding”. I would say most people are siloed.

Pros

Great place to start your career as a new grad. Watch out for dead ends and make sure you're always on a high priority project. You should get everything you can and then leave between 2-5 years to continue growing your career. I think they do a good job with diversity, there are many female managers and good representation of various cultures, races, and religions. Where they fall down is in age discrimination (see below).

Cons

Company does not value more experienced employees and will take steps to "quiet fire" you if they decide you are too expensive. If that doesn't work, they will lay you off. Ask me how I know. :( They have lost a HUGE number of senior people (aged 50-60) in the last 4 years by pushing people to retire early, normal attrition, and forced reductions in head count. Not remote or hybrid work friendly.

Pros

Good culture of growth mindset instilled from managers and even department directors. Ownership of work is crucial and gives you a chance to work on your technical knowledge and independence. A lot of career opportunities are available especially if you can excel in your scope of field. Everyone is easy to work with and respectful.

Cons

Can feel disconnected sometimes due to local language being used. However, it's not really that of a big deal.
