Pros

• Lack of Clear Strategy: There appears to be no coherent strategy, leading to uncertainty and confusion. • Questionable Leadership Decisions: Leadership acquired new companies in Australia, over-hired, and then conducted random massive layoffs. • Confusing Organizational Structure: The flat organizational structure at Thoughtworks is difficult to navigate, especially for new hires. • Unclear Goals and Expectations: There are multiple platforms for career and grade expectations, but none provide clear guidance. • Dual Pressures: Developers at Thoughtworks are expected to satisfy both management and customers, essentially working for two bosses without receiving adequate appreciation. • Competitive Project Allocation: Employees must compete to get assigned to projects. Some projects require going through a stressful hiring and onboarding process each time. • Inadequate Compensation: Thoughtworks doesn’t pay well, and considering the dual pressures and competitive environment, the stress and trouble make it not worth the effort.

Cons

• Discontinued Perks: The company has stopped offering the perks that were initially promised to new employees, such as development packages and company shares. • Eliminated Incentives: There are no longer any promotions, bonuses, or merit increases available. • Empty Values: The emphasis on social justice and other values now feels like empty rhetoric. • Massive Layoffs: Employees faced sudden, random layoffs with minimal severance packages. • Terminated Benefits: Health plans were abruptly terminated, leaving employees, particularly those with health conditions, in very difficult situations.

Pros

- The people are incredible, with diverse and talented individuals from around the globe. - Although our culture—known for its collaboration, mentorship, agile practices, and strong engineering capabilities—has faced challenges since the company went public, elements of it persist. However, these may diminish further, or completely disappear, in the next 1-3 years. - There are still opportunities for career advancement into leadership or executive roles. Advancing in the engineer ladder is also fairly easy, but don’t expect much change in your compensation

Cons

- The company has been reducing benefits, and raises are infrequent and minimal. Meanwhile, executives remain unaffected by the poor performance of the company’s stock in the market. - The company culture is being dismantled - Several longstanding employees, and some of the most amazing professionals out there, have been terminated or laid off just as they were about to qualify for a sabbatical(3 months off) after ten years of service, which speaks volumes about the current direction of the company. This would never have happened before we went public -Work-life balance can be challenging, particularly for those in leadership roles such as project managers or tech leads, who often need to participate in early morning and/or late night calls on a regular basis. -There's a lack of investment in initiatives for employee engagement, leading to increased feelings of isolation among colleagues. - Lack of involvement from SMEs and Principal Engineers in projects is evident. Previously, one of our core strengths was knowing how to utilize industry experts to cultivate our culture and disseminate knowledge. Now, they are mostly being used to sell projects. Let's face it, we're on a one-way trip to disaster town. It's likely we'll get chopped up to resemble every other mediocre consultancy that prioritizes quantity over quality. Tragically, we've plummeted from being the best place I’ve ever worked to scraping the bottom of the barrel in just a few years...

Pros

No questions asked unlimited paid sick leaves - [ However i guess this will soon be revoked as they've recruited people from almost everywhere who do not align with TWKS values and are misusing this. I GUESS THIS IS THE PRICE OF HIRING MEDIOCRE TALENT]

Cons

No hikes since before the war began in Ukraine Dry promotions HRs provide false promises and then a few weeks later these HRs leave the organization themselves Mediocre talent recruitment Good talent existing inside the org are leaving the org after being here for 10+ years They ask you to take fewer leaves on December to increase revenue. Shares are nose diving at nasdaq, 90% down from the time they were vested. They preach a lot, a lot of Senior Devs have time to give non dev talks about society. For a company bleeding money, maybe stop preaching ans start earning , getting good clients that pay the bills on time. They (like all other companies] are nore interested in on boarding newer mediocre people than trtaining their superb existing talent (who are asking for fewer rupees] .
