Good to get experience

Pros

Knowledgeable team members if you are in the right team. Conference attendance, especially if you present. Generally they support and pay for training if you can demonstrate the benefit

Cons

It's all about the bottom line and making profit, you really are just a number. Minimal room for innovation or finding different solutions as everything is tied to project budget. Incredible amount of corporate tasks (e.g., tasks that are not project related so not billable, but then upper management is upset when you put non-billable time on your timesheet). Expectations to work overtime and not get paid. Not a lot of room to try different streams of work (lateral moves), once you're in in a specific field, that's where you're staying.

Pros

decent pay, employer pays for training and certifications.

Cons

Lack of management and support from colleagues, you get tossed a project and have to figure it out on your own. Convoluted PM system was a nightmare to use.
