Pros

- Brand new office, well thoughtout open space - many new hires - Huge cafe - Amazing HR advisors and recruiters

Cons

- 90% of the employees are arrogant / desk monkeys - very corporate work environment ( no sense of team building what so ever) - fairly low paid salary and minimum vacation (EIT salary $55k and 2 weeks of vacation and no bonus) - poor team and environment that led to low morale in the office - after 10-15 years of EIT/ Technical experience you may or may not move into a management position - there were Engineers in their 40s with no management role or experience - very poor methods of providing criticism, a current employee had comments such as “you women, I am not sure what your guys are even good at” and “ I am never hiring from Ryerson again”

Abysmal Benefits

Pros

It's a job and they pay on time.

Cons

1 WEEK of maternity/Parental leave...if they could they'd give you less. 1 week people, tells you how they value their employees. WSP is too busy empire building to actually manage what they are aquiring, the staff is mere necessary inconvenience to management.

Pros

At present there is not one pro to working at this organization. And unfortunately, the organization is so far gone and in too deep to recover anytime soon. The support groups in small pockets like some in HR, Payroll, Marketing and Travel were always helpful.

Cons

The Benefits are expensive. If you have family, intend to have a family do not work for this organization as the benefits alone will cost you a lot. For example, family coverage on a PPO plan will run you ~$750. 401k match sucks. The average increase for benefits every year is upward of 10% yet your average pay increase is 2-3%. The organization has been belied with awful leadership. Each one successively worse than the last. Honestly I don't know who is worse the previous CEO George Pierson or the current one Greg Kelly. I'm leaning toward the latter because while George was an a-hole, I think Greg is a bigger one. Senior management across the board is just awful. The organization is in full tailspin. Women if you value your sanity and career stay away from this 75% male environment. Women are treated awful and never have an opportunity to rise and the few that have were inevitably taken out over time. If you are Black, do not bother. You will never ascend not to any real and true areas of leadership.
