Pros

I had good job security working at wal-mart...I never felt like I would be fired. I enjoy working with people so the customers were a plus. There was always something to do and there were always shifts to pick up if I wanted more hours.

Cons

THe pay was not very good and the hours were very long. The benefits ere not very good either. Being at a store that is open 24-hours meant I had to be very flexable with my schedule.

Pros

It can be a fun place to work. Lots of nice people do work there and they offer a discount, which helps since working there you are more likely to buy something.

Cons

At the moment there is no overtime. Some members of management that are over a few stores are making bad choices that hurt my ability to do my job, making up rules that don't make any sense to me.

Pros

Low cost health health insurance. HSA. Will hire most anyone. They hired me when no one else would.

Cons

No feedback. Huge favortism when promoting. Two verbal warnings equals a written warning. A third verbal warning becomes a 'decision day' at which point an associate can not be promoted nor transfer to another facility. Even after the first and/or second verbal warnings expire after a year, the decision day stands as such and bars any possibility of advancement. Such a decision day also would mean that any additional verbal warning with in the above time frames would be brounds for termination. Disciplining and or verbal warnings are given to assosiates that are not in good favor with management. Has absolutely no bearing to good or bad performance. Attitude of advancement or promotion being based on sexual preference or racial ethnicity is rampant.
