Pros

Job Security, I'm not to worried about losing my job since Wal-Mart is the biggest retailer in the world!

Cons

No benefits, low pay, and I feel like I'm not being noticed, I'm always asked to do things outside of my job description, and have even taken on alot of responsibilities that aren't part of my immediate job, and still get paid the lowest of everyone in my entire department. So many customers have told me I'm the most helpful guy there, my department manager has told me about how amazing I am also, and still, no mention of a raise or anything that would make me want to stay there.

Pros

Good as a part time job or second job for those in need, also good for high school and college students. Wal-marts are everywhere Semi-decent work opportunities.

Cons

Treated badly by any management above store level(district management, regional, home office). Intelligence and actually usable ideas are thrown out the window. Asset protection is basically a joke, employees who have been caught stealing are given a second chance, customers are allowed to walk out the doors with high price items with out anything said. What you know is related to your job title and pay grade, not weather or not you need to know the information or how it could effect you. Customers treat you like you are a idiot, even when it's your job to know more about a product then they could image.

Pros

With the economy struggling right now and layoffs happening at major companies, I feel secure in the knowledge that Wal-Mart isn't going anywhere. It's a huge company with plenty of financial means and they can weather any storm.

Cons

The size of the company can also be a major failing. A single employee tends to get lost in the daily shuffle, and the stores themselves have so many employees (mine averages between 400-500) that no single manager can possibly be qualified to assess your skills or rate your performance.
