Pros

amazing colleagues, great mission-driven work, really influential organization in their areas of expertise

Cons

HR is pretty terrible, benefits are so-so, while it is possible for mid-level growth, it is often VERY difficult to get commensurate salary increases without leaving the institute or leveraging a competing offer

Pros

Nice benefits and nice office. One or two good program leaders.

Cons

SO much internal politics with a very poor return on investment. HR are very poor and support bad behavior of senior management.
