I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Paychex (Pittsburgh, PA) in Jun 2009
Interview
Phone interview with HR first. Met HR and the Sales Mgr second and I had to take a math test which was easy. Last was an interview that included the CEO. She was too laid back with no plans for growth for the company.
The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Paychex (Denver, CO) in May 2009
Interview
Paychex seems to provide a standard interview process. I had one phone interview that led to an in-person interview with a Human Resources person. On the phone interview, the person was outgoing and friendly. Unfortunately my experience in person was not the same. The person seemed distant, a little cold and business a usual.
The in-person interview started immediately with a math test to test your basic math skills. My test consisted mostly of word problems. After the test, I spoke with the HR person. The interview discussion consisted of just asking me to talk about my work history. I found this annoying because I was asked to submit my work history in four different formats. It did not seem like the HR person read any of them and just asked me to verbally regurgitate my job history. After going through my resume for about an hour, the interview was over and I was told I'd get feedback in a few days. They delivered as promised.
