I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Salesforce (Dublín, Dublín) in Nov 2019
Interview
The interview process is long but very clear and you understand the process from the beginning. From application to offer, the process was exactly two months for me. After the Assessment Centre they say it could take two weeks to give you an offer - it was exactly two weeks for me. The longest two weeks but it was worth the wait.
First I had a screening call with a Salesforce recruiter three days after I applied for the position, followed by a call with another Salesforce recruiter eight days later. The first call consisted of basic interview questions, why you want to work at Salesforce, etc. The second call was more focused on Salesforce products and customers, however it wasn't a test. The recruiter spoke for a long time about the products and customers. They wanted to tell you how to prepare for the next stage. Both recruiters were very friendly and helpful.
The second stage is a video call with the managers. It was quite relaxed, they wanted to get to know you. These are all of the questions they asked me as well as some more related to my experience:
1. Why do you want to work in sales?
2. What do you want to get out of sales?
3. Why Salesforce?
4. What is you understanding of the BDA role?
5. What other companies and roles are you applying to?
6. What is your criteria for choosing one company over another?
7. What do you bring to a team, what is your role?
8. A time when you received negative feedback, how did it make you feel?
The third stage is the assessment centre - you go to Salesforce for a day, you get to meet the team and other applicants.
A week before the Assessment Centre you get sent a case study which you have to prepare a presentation on. On the day you will be put into a group with two others and present to the company in the case study. It is an easy case study, it is not designed to trip you but to showcase your knowledge of Salesforce products and to see how you work in a team.
We had to be there for 9am, but the day began at 9:20. There was a presentation welcoming us, showing us the plan for the day and telling us about the role and the career progression path. At 10am the assessments began. Half of the applicants would have the case study first, the other half had the interviews first. Then a 45 minute lunch break and back to interviews/case studies.
We had two interviews: one seemed to focus more on your work and academic experience and why you wanted to work in sales. The other interview seemed to focus more on your interests and hobbies. These were very relaxed interviews. In the interview time block, you were also given a tour of the office by current BDAs. You can ask them anything about Salesforce, the role, the office - if you have any burning questions you don't want to ask in an interview this is the time to.
The case study block: you're put into teams of three and you are given 45 minutes to discuss your findings and to prepare your presentation to the prospects. You are in a meeting room for this with two Salesforce employees. They assess your teamwork skills while you are preparing the presentation. This is a group task so they want to see if you can listen to other people and take their opinions on board, they don't want someone who is bossing the group or not contributing at all. Then you are given 20/25 minutes to present. The Salesforce employees are now your prospects - they know nothing about Salesforce, you need to sell it to them. They will ask you questions throughout the presentation, not at the end.
The day finished at 3:30. It was an enjoyable day and you really get a feel for the company and the culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me a story about you that I wouldn't find on your CV or in an interview (weird question because it was in fact an interview).
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Salesforce (Dublín, Dublín)
Interview
The interview process consisted of 4 rounds; 1st was a phone screening with a recruiter. This call is very much about you, your experience, why you think you would be a good fit for Salesforce. Heard back about a week later to schedule the next round. The 2nd round was a phone call with a senior recruiter. This was more about my experience, my knowledge of the company and AI /Big Data/ Internet of Things. (This is all on SF trailhead). Heard back about ten days later with the date for a video call. This was with two senior members of staff. I was asked about my experience, how I would sell Salesforce to another company and how it would benefit the company. I was asked to talk about my failures, achievements and my motivations. About two weeks later I got invited to the Assessment Centre for the day. This consisted of a business case study which I got a week before to prepare myself and then prepared and presented with two others on the day, and two face-to-face interviews with senior members of staff.
The whole process was good. Everyone I met was so friendly. You do need to do a lot of research on the company, use trailhead to learn about the products and look at demos and customer success stories on the website and YouTube.
Ask 3 or 4 strong questions at the end of each interview.
What do you know about Salesforce? What are the benefits of the cloud?
Have you heard of the Internet of Things (IoT)?
How would SF benefit a company?
How would you determine if SF is a good fit for a company?

Interview
The process is pretty straight forward : you submit your CV on the online platform of the company, if you’re selected you receive a call from HR, they will ask you about your motivations as to why this particular role and why this company.
Salesforce is very committed to charity, the 1-1-1 Model, and to the Ohana (Family in English) principles so review (same goes for the tech industry as a whole and its trends, and the business, what they sell (CRM software) etc) them before the interview so they know you’re eager to learn and want to progress as a general picture.
The role is the junior business development role, it’s a 2 years and half process, the first 6 months are a way to discover the business and support the sales junior team in learning about new business opportunities, and then 1 year where you will be committed to providing solutions for inbounds potential customers and so on and so forth until being able to develop your business on your own and manage accounts so you can negotiate contracts and do the end to end sales after almost 3 years of training.
The process itself is long, and is not smooth, I had someone from HR who was interested in hiring me and I didn’t hear from her in 2 weeks even though I have sent her a couple of emails, it was a very frustrating experience, the staff hires a lot, and have a lot of candidates to interview, and will not put efforts into contacting you, giving you feedbacks,...
A company which states : “putting individuals at the heart of the company” via the ohana model etc NEEDS to respect that philosophy. It is very disappointing to see how they treat candidates.
However I’m sure the company is great and very incentive
