The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Verizon (Coshocton, OH) in Aug 2010
Interview
Very prompt and professional. Starts with an online application, a phone screen from HR, then a face to face. Offer is made within one week of interview. Headcount is a priority in retail channel so there is little delay in moving on a candidate and expectations are realisticly set.

Question 1
Describe a sales experience where you had to change your initial approach to persuade others. What was the result?
The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verizon (Wooster, OH) in Mar 2012
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who conducted a short phone interview. After that, I contacted by the local store manager and called in for an interview. This interview was a 2:1 interview with 2 managers and myself. After what I knew was a great interview for me, I left and they said I would be contacted by the recruiter within one week whether or not I was offered a position. After a week and a half passed, I called the recruiter and left him a message. I then e-mailed him the next day. I called several days later and made multiple attempts to contact him to see what was going on. About a month later, I received an automated rejection e-mail. The most frustrating thing about the entire interview process is that my friend who works at the same location I interviewed at, said he talked to the managers immediately after my interview and asked them how it went. They said it went really well, but that they probably weren't going to hire anyone at all anyways. The entire thing was a waste of my time and they kept me in the dark about everything.

Tell me about a time you WOWed a customer with your knowledge of a product
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Hialeah, FL) in Mar 2012
Interview
I applied online and was interviewed over the phone by a hiring manager, after passing my phone interview they gave me a date to go and meet for a store interview in a store that the company was hiring. The store interview was around 3-4 days after the phone interview and consisted of a group interview with the locations assistant manager and store manger. Both the store manager and the assistant manager asked me several tough questions like:
1) Name a time when you could not meet a goal or deadline and what you did so that it wouldnt happen agian.
2) Sell me a product of your choice (and I had to do a presentation selling them a product and they gave me up to 2 minutes to prepare for the presentation).
3) Sell me one of the products that you sold in your previous jobs, why is it better then this other product, what features does it have? how much more does it cost?
4) Why do you want to work for Verizon?
5) Describe some of your retail experience
6) Name a time when you had to use technology or adjust to new technology that was coming out.
7) Did you have to meet sales quotas in your last job?
8) Name a time when you had to motivate your team, what did you do to motivate your team?
The interview was friendly but it felt like I was getting grilled with really tough questions and asked to make alot of presentations. I printed and studied some of the interview questions that people posted on this site for sales associates before going to the interview in order to be prepared to answer some of the questions I was expecting but some of the questions that they asked me werent listed on this site.
