I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon in Oct 2013
Interview
the interview process all depends on what region, district, and how familiar the people interviewing you are about your previous position. If you don't know the people interviewing you, there is a high chance that you wont be selected, no matter your experience. The best way to get a decent chance at having a successful interview, is to wait until someone says "Hey I want you to interview for this position"

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Asheville, NC) in Aug 2014
Interview
The interview process is a panel interview. You will have the store manager and the district manager, along with the floating manager. They will go through a list of questions and ask for specific instances. They will wait weeks, and then finally tell you whether you got the job or not. Then you will meet with the managers and get feedback from your interview.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Tampa, FL) in Dec 2014
Interview
This would be available to internal hires only. The process is similar to the interview one would experience to initially get hired with the company. It involves (depending on location) either an initial phone/person to person interview. Then a subsequent interview with more senior leadership.
