Pros

1. There has been a steady flow of work which created stability in my life to pursue Foster Parenting to Adoption for two young children. 2. This opportunity has given the time to build character and adapt to different situations.

Cons

1. Issues in Fostering Children is different than Adoption. AT&T should address Fostering Differently than Adoption. The first two weeks for Fostering are the most important, and it happens suddenly. Fostering is not as planned as Adoption. In addition, the requirements are different. Did you know Foster Parents are required to have 20 Hours Training a year. Foster Parents are also required to attend Court Hearings concerning the children's well-being and permanency. New Policies need to be made for Foster Parents. 2. The flow of work has changed in the Last 6 years. Moving away from Stock to Nonstock Items. This changes everything. 3.AT&T says that Employees Matter. That appears to be true outside of the warehouse. In the warehouse is a different story. Individuals are forgotten about and become unvalued. A few Managers have their favorite employees that they allow to take it easy, and others they add stress to.

Pros

It pays well, and they give you a company car with a company Amex to pay for gas and parking. You get to work with good people

Cons

Going inside customers homes sometimes dirty homes and in sketchy areas. You try to upsell them change carriers to have them save 25% in their bills. The system sucks and it can take you up to 3 hours just to open 1 activation. Its a high stress sales job where the managers will use scare tactics to push you to sell. They don’t care about helping the customer they care more about how many activations you have opened in the day regardless how many you have opened yesterday. Let’s say you opened 5 line’s yesterday and today you end the day at 0 the manger will not be happy and threaten your job. They are ruthless and don’t care about your personal life or work life balance. You start the day at 8am to be home sometimes at 9pm or in my case one time at 12am at a customers house trying to close the sell. It’s a lot of driving especially in the rain you still have to work get out of the car in the rain and knock the door to sell. This is why they’re always hiring because people don’t last after the fourth month only because your 3 months rail up is mandatory by the company to pay you 100% salary and commission after that if you don’t hit your monthly goal of 20/25 activations after two or three months after they will put you in a performance plan, they will put you in a low performance call with other employees that aren’t making the month and they will literally interrogate you on why aren’t you hitting your goal and they will ask you to either look for an other job or work at a att retail store its brutal. So be mentally prepared if you want to work here. The manager wont help you if you have any problems with the customer they will tell you to figure it out. Because they are busy doing nothing all day working from home living their life while making money on our backs while using like I mentioned before scare tactics to push you to sell more so “We can all Win Together!” The ones that works the hardest in this role is the IHX and The SSL who are the dispatcher who works hourly and do all the work for the managers all the time.

Pros

You work solo Insurance Discounts(cell discount is easy to beat by other companies with no discount) "Union"

Cons

*New hires are now rushed through training and are left unprepaired for the actual work in the field. When you getvto the field your manager will hate you because you are hurting their numbers and with ride you until you quit* Every position you're working towards is being removed and their work is being placed on you. You're given less time, with higher expectations. Your raises are eaten up by the rising cost of the insurance. No cost of living adjustments. Bonuses requirements have gotten so high no one even check to see it they got it anymore. You have no idea if you get off at 2pm or 11pm and there is no way to predict when you'll be off. This leaves you not planning anything with family and friends. You will work three out four weekends a month. If you have kids, this means you'll miss 75% of what they do. This is the reality of this job. I'm not even trying ro make it sound bad. These are just the facts. I've been here 8 years and everyone I know with 6 months + is trying to leave. Remember, there is a real reason they have that sign on bonus and it's because that's the only thing that will keep you here.
