Pros

Working with Black and Brown people

Cons

Everything else. Management- rude, unorganized, and distant Field Quota Expectations - encouraged to bully underprivileged communities into donating money. Older, senior field canvassers who couldn’t make quota threaten with being fired daily. Other field canvaaaers had to make quite or were immediately fired. Frequent Turnover- because of the unreachable quota expectations, there was frequent turnover. Constantly new groups of guinea pigs being trained every week because of others being fired/quitting Money- grueling, cold-calling outside work with little pay (often not guaranteed if you didn’t make quota)

Pros

A truly dedicated workforce driving towards a globally recognised mission.

Cons

Often a culture of distrust between departments and amongst staff, resulting in it being an extremely difficult place to work, at times.

• Passionate staff, volunteers and activists • Meaningful work • Very good parental leave package • Good remuneration

Cons

• Stressful work environment • Poor work-life balance • Bullying allowed to happen with few or no consequences • Poor relations between staff and management (management’s fault) • Poor physical and mental health outcomes for many staff • Limited promotional opportunities (management seeking new external employees rather than focusing on investing in current staff) • Staff expected to live and breathe organisational values that are not held up by management
