Pros

EY name is the only pro I can think of. Take a year or so and RUN.

Cons

Terrible management style, poor training, and little to no opportunity for overtime depending what project you are on. Turnover rate is similar to that of a fast-food restaurant. Low base compared to the rest of the competition. I have been at EY for over a year and I have friends who are just now graduating from college from same school, same degree, and are starting at a much higher salary than what is offered at the EY Test Practice. Salary and raises are flat and not negotiable. It's not worth it to work here. Please take my advice and apply elsewhere.

Pros

Looks good on the resume. Good learning experience around personal brand management Majority of people you work with are genuinely good, know what they're doing, are motivated and will help others. Excellent power point slides A few partners would make good mentors. These are in the minority and their time is scarce.

Cons

Clients rarely get value for money, engagements filled with graduates or staff who have little subject matter expertise, charging upwards of 1800+ per day. No effective internal development program. Most courses / training is at an introductory level Counscellors are hit and miss, some look after their staff, others look after themselves and provide feedback that would be considered bullying / harrassment in other organisations Lack of leadership throughout the business, especially at director / senior manager level. Organisation prioritises management over leadership, majority of staff dont know the difference and micro management is very common. Long hours and low pay, but that is secondary to the above. Very high turn over.

Pros

When starting out, you are surrounded by a class of over 100 people your age which makes integrating into your career a more smooth and like-minded process. You will be absolutely floored by how much information you will learn in at this Company. There are many groups within the company that are open to anyone joining, and there are many volunteering opportunities if that is your passion.

Cons

Due to the nature of the business, there are long hours, especially during busy season. Trick here is to curb your expectations and realize what you are getting yourself into. Experience at the firm is very team dependent - if you are on a great team, work is a piece of cake. However, if you are on a team that doesn't quite mesh or has high turnover, it can be more of a stuggle to maintain a level head.
