Pros

Part of company and culture is in serving mainstreet America to help small business person compete in todays market. Other part of company is to provide ERP for tier 2 Mfg.

Cons

Turnover in leadership with singular objective of selling of company. Small business unit has lost focus and mission, while mfg ERP product has implementation and other issues.

Pros

There really, truly are some great people working at Epicor. Guys, if you’re reading this, get out before the ship sinks! 401k is decent, health care benefits not too bad, pay is average. Management allows many of us to work from home.

Cons

The recently hired executive team seem to be in over their heads with no idea how to steer a company this size. One of their recent decisions was to outsource a large chunk of the IT department to a third-party company in India. This third-party company has no idea what they are doing and they have a very high turnover rate. The Epicor IT department has had problems before, but now it’s a joke. Training budgets have been slashed or, if they exist, are not allowed to be spent. Epicor was once a proud organization with loyal employees. Now most folks are paranoid or jaded at best. They have just spun off one of the most profitable divisions of the company into its own entity.

Pros

Some dedicated employees still holding on. Chic f la and HEB are across the street? I am grasping for things at this point.

Cons

Where do I start??When Joe Cowan came on board I personally felt very excited about the possibilities. He talked about the “keys to success” and I was ready to drink the Kool-Aid and be the ever loyal employee that I always had been. Then the “globalization” started and I watched as jobs were moved to Mexico where they could pay someone 15k a year there to do what they need to pay 40k a year for in the states. All the while I have watched as the work product suffered. The people that I have worked with for so many years are the only reason I have held on this long. I watch major talent and legacy knowledge walk out the door for better offers which leaves the remaining employees and customers to suffer. The company is constantly in reactive mode instead of proactive mode. Every day is a constant battle of putting out fires that could have been avoided with competent management at the helm. You leave feeling exhausted and defeated. It would be much easier to hold back the tide than to manage the unreasonable workload at Epicor. Middle management is a joke, incompetent, and cannot be relied on to solve operational or personnel issues of any kind. Entirely too worried about maintaining control to actually listen to valuable feedback from employees. I have not seen any process improvements at all under the current “leadership”. Advice to management – Sacrifice your pride and try to win back some of the talent that has left us. Hold onto the talent you have remaining. Wake up! The company is falling apart!
