Pros

-Name value -Talented staffs -Decent compensation package with bonuses -OK benefits: $500 continuing education but not annual, pay your own parking, HSA option, no firmwide AB subscriptions, stock and ESOP at 1 year but not fully vested for 5 years. -Good work life balance but also depends on project architects, design managers, and studio directors

Cons

-Gensler is cool, but not Gensler Atlanta. I recommend going elsewhere because the firm is not financially healthy and we have been struggling for 3+ years now. Maybe join from 5 years from now if the leadership changes. -Gensler Atlanta makes sure that we are aware that we are REPLACABLE. So many talented and who were great go work with are GONE. You don't get to say bye either because the layoffs are "confidential." So gross. Once it's been decided, you are an outsider. -"It is what it is attitude" from the leadership. Very inconsiderate. -Extremely poor management: had gone through 2 rounds of layoffs within 2 MONTHS. Hopefully this timeline shows how bad they are at managing and predicting finances and keeping Gensler Atlanta healthy. 30+ staffs were laid off out and now at 70+ staffs. -Poor projects: Gensler Atlanta does not get exciting and fun projects. We are working for developers or giant fast food chain. Cares ONLY about bottom lines. ONLY join if you want to do retail, workplace, multi-family, and 3-star hotels. -Low Diversity -Bad leadership makes junior and senior staffs suffer -Low workload: if we are talking about how light we are on staffing, THERE WILL BE LAYOFFS ON WEDNESDAYS. -Low Retention rate: Some people quit for better opportunities/pay but many quit out of the fear of getting laid off. Everyone is constantly thinking about jumping ships. -Ignorance: they ask for staff's opinions through surveys, but does NOT get heard at all. Just a formal step we follow because the big Gensler told us to. Intention is good, but leadership does try to hear. -Blurred PA/PM position: PAs basically do both therefore, they are extremely busy with meetings and coordination. Some PAs and all of DMs and upper management DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE REVIT. Thus, do not understand how long it actually takes to do things in Revit (good at commenting on Bluebeam so I guess that counts right?). Some who are in the model, they understand, but some do not and puts pressure on junior staffs. But they have been there forever so they let them stay and have other staffs go through pain of dealing with them.

Pros

Gensler has a great sense of community and the people that work here are fantastic. The project work is diverse and gives them the flexibility to allow team members to find their passion. Open with finances and with everything that is going on with the office. Lots of opportunities for learning and participating within office and industry.

Cons

Forcing employees back into the office regardless if their roles, responsibilities, and personal circumstances would benefit or not. Does not promote based on quality of work exclusively. You have to participate in many things in order to get even a little bit of recognition within the office. High rollover rate with a lot of experienced individuals coming and going. Seems at times people are being thrown on projects to cover body of work with little to no guidance, so project work can suffer at times and mentorship is not always the strongest.

Pros

I can't mention any single good thing.

Cons

Retaliation, favoritism, harassment, and questionable leadership. LA Flex 2, should go straight to legal.
