Pros

Used to be good firm to work for until the private equity investor deal. Had team spirit, respect team members as a person.

Cons

Zero integrity. The management has been informing the employees that there would be no layoffs, but right before they close the deal with the private equity investor, they laid off 350 people in the US. No transit plan. No advance notice. Everything was a mess. In the same monthly internal update call, everything is showing as in track, including the revenue growth, but in the same call, the top management used the slower pace of the revenue growth was the reason for the laid off.

Pros

It’s a decent mid-tier firm to have on resume. You learn a lot. Nice office. It has a room you can go cry in.

Cons

Work/life balance is an absolute joke. Lots of lip service. They’ll tell you to your face that they’re happy with you and your performance but then belittle you and speak negatively behind your back. Lots of great people left because of toxic management. Highly competitive and if you have any responsibilities outside of dedicating 100% of your life to work you will not get ahead.

Pros

- Flexible: Hybrid Work, Summer hours, Unlimited PTO (given you meet ~80% utilization) - Career Progression: Heavy emphasis on university recruiting and recruiting/developing young talent - Impact: Lean teams without sacrificing capability offerings, each team member contributes tangible value on their client engagements and are recognized for it

Cons

- Diversity: Lack of diversity at PPMD/Director/Senior Manger-level - Retirement Benefits: 401k matching is not great compared to other Consulting firms/industry firms, although GT does have an okay pension plan where employees are 100% vested after 3 years of service - Career Progression feels set in stone: Promotions seem to be based on years of experience rather than value contributed
