Pros

Paid CPA Prep Courses Decent CPA pass bonus

Cons

Poor culture, and working with understaffed teams due to layoffs because they over hired. Working constantly wondering if you are next. Unlimited PTO is not really unlimited and not being executed well.

Pros

1. Open door policy 2. Some of the seniors are very supportive of junior staff and have the capability to be a good mentor. 3. Events throughout the year (parties, sports fest, etc.)

Cons

1. The partners involved in management are of Auditing and assurance specially the ones looking after the HR related work, they don't understand the student perspective of CA life. No leaves are given to students beyond 1st attempt. 2. There is no overtime pay. you do get compensatory offs of extra hours you have put in but most of the partners don't allow us to fill in the time sheets with the actual amount of hours worked, also the comp off can be availed only once, after that the remaining leaves expires. 3. They try to bring in policies like that in big four. but the implimentation is way too poor. 4. All the good people who work in the firm, either leave, or change department.

Pros

It’s a job. The administrative support staff is friendly. There are a handful of cool people.

Cons

GT fills people with this notion that they are different. But all it amounts to is a large amount of corporate buzz words. Ever since the current APL took over the culture has tanked. In my time at GT several girls had to leave the firm because they broke up with a former colleague and the current Sr. Mgrs and Partners took sides when they should have stayed out of it. I once overheard a Partner (and someone who was later made partner) say horrible things about other employees of the firm. That isn’t what firms who are sincere about “people and values” do. GT is world class in talking about people and values, dynamic organizations, purple chips, etc. This is all meaningless. The partners certainly do not live these values- and at face value it’s meaningless. What is a “dynamic organization”. Dynamic is a corporate fluff word. While working at GT I was surrounded by people who friendly to we’re friendly on the outside but were cold hearted on the inside.
