Pros

Good work life balance, nice facilities, on site gym, great location

Cons

everything else. This has become a hollowed out and directionless company. There is constant employee turnover, morale is at an all time low, senior leaders are leaving left right and center and management has no clue, priorities change every few months, old strategy gets repackaged and re-launched as something brand new, multiple teams within the company are doing the same and redundant work, projects will be abandoned in the middle of the road. Company just announced a 3% layoff, basically it is very top heavy, whole bunch of program managers, directors, corporate folks, hundreds of marketing folks all hawking a product that we are unable to successfully deliver. Compensation is also not great. There is a big disparity between the salaries of employees doing the same work. The company has no culture, constant turnover has basically reduced my team into a handful of folks, most people are too stressed to have a friendly conversation. Seriously, not a great place, I have spoken to a couple of new hires who are regretting joining the company.

Pros

Good benefits. Great work life-balance. Great technology (AWS Cloud --> Kubernetes). Used to have some really great, smart people but most are gone (see "cons" below)

Cons

Management's inability to prioritize plus their lack of trust in Engineering teams have lead to mounting technical debt that resulted in large unwieldy monoliths. Then they start complaining about why you're not delivering on time. Meantime they have 5 people working on 8 different projects concurrently - constantly switching on a daily basis and then ask why nothing is done. Even when asked for a priority list they'll tell you 20 things but 5 number one priorities! Now even long-term staff (15+ years) are leaving and entire teams are departing. All that pressure is resulting in a culture of blame - but when you have responsibility but no power - it becomes so dysfunctional.

We know it's not always perfect for a technology company in transformation - these are exciting times, but we are constantly working on how to better inform and support employees through these changes with the aim of simplifying our work.

Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Interesting work and problems to solve. Great work/life balance.

Cons

The company has been trying for years to bring in quality management. No luck so far. On the bright side, the company is extremely top-heavy. Mind-boggling number of executives, brought in by the new CEO, coming and going at dizzying speeds, running the company into the ground. Directors and Senior Directors with 1-2 people "organizations." Managers and Senior Managers with no direct reports. Rampant imposture. New Chief Innovation Officer is the former Chief HR Officer. New Chief Data Officer is the former SVP of Strategy and IP Licensing (!?). Resources wasted on fantasy HR projects and university collaborations.
