Pros

No micromanagement, no interaction with other interpreters resulting in less office politics.

Cons

No PTO/Sick days/paid vacation. Any missed days are deducted from paycheck. Every missed minute from the assigned schedule is deducted from paycheck (ex- couple minutes of extended break, quick restroom etc). Limited to none career growth. This job is not for those who seek career growth or advancement.
