Pros

The few people I have worked with in my team are friends for life. (they say you make friends for life through your biggest struggles!)

Cons

To much pressure added to all staff with no support or processes in place Unrealistic targets and deadlines which cannot be met 3 month probationary period given however after a little over 4 weeks in the job the fear of failure, performance management or redundancy is already being discussed. This is also happening even though the typical sales cycle is around 12 weeks! Hired for a territory which you never see... This has changed twice within my time here. Leads given for you to convert are months old, have been contacted numerous times and in most cases have already had a bad experience from the company and yet this is what you are managed against and expected to convert. Needless to say neigh in imposssible No stability in the job, change of team leaders and hotel leads are frequent. all within 2 months of joining Need I go on..... Avoid if you want to keep your sanity!!!

We appreciate you taking out time to share your honest feedback, which will help us build a better workplace. On some of the concerns that you have raised, we have recently made some instrumental changes to enable a great employee experience. For example, we have formally introduced a program to enable skip-level engagement and easy feedback sharing in India. There are several measures to promote employee well-being. These initiatives will be expanded to other OYO markets in the future. If you have any further feedback or suggestion, please share it with your manager, HRBP or OYO leader. Be assured that your input will be kept confidential.

Pros

none. Not even the high base salary and some what decent benefits could make up for how awful working for this company was.....

Cons

I do not think I even have enough room to share everything horrible about OYO.... Management was a complete joke, mine having just as much experience as me in the industry and this job being their first ever management position. It definitely showed with the complete lack of knowledge and ability to actually MANAGE. Too many BDMs for one person (26 to 1) and clearly chose not to even try and invest time into all of us. Only reached out twice whole time to check in the whole time I was there, one of those times being to lay me off, and offered ZERO assistance on anything nor did they even have the experience to help if they wanted to. I had even reached out multiple times on multiple occasions across multiple platforms, yet NEVER received a response from my manager. Not to say they would get back to me or anything, even though I was able to see every message had been read. You went in thinking you would have a protected territory. Not the case, plus every area had already been picked over multiple times by multiple people before. Territories would change without notice or just cause, and no one could give you a direct answer as to what was true and what was not. Complete disaster and unorganized. OYOs reputation was so bad, you were lucky if you could even get in the door at most hotels. Two of my areas already had OYOs prior to me joining, and the owners at them had such negative experiences I was advised to stay completely away from them and to not ever go in and introduce myself. Yet, even still, they thought/expected me to get another owner at a different hotel in those same areas to sign up with OYO. It was an absolute joke and nightmare all in one. I could keep going on, and fill up a book probably of all the horrible, unprofessional, down right disrespectful things that I experienced/saw during my time as a BDM here. It was the first time I had seen a company do such shady things, knowing they were doing them, yet continued on anyway. It is truly the worst professional experience I have ever had, worst I have ever been treated as an employee at a company, and simply the worst company I have ever been associated with in general.
