Preaches Culture, Falls flat when executing...

Pros

There are some amazing leaders within the company. They truly care about your development, success, and well being.

Cons

The company has its core values that it preaches every day. At one point in time, that culture was great but more recently the culture that they preach is just words with no meaning. The company has completely lost sight of its core values. Paychex now has a reputation of having terrible customer service. Payroll Specialists are insanely overworked with unreasonable client counts which leads to turn over, which leads to payroll specialists being even more overworked and less focus on customer service.

Pros

Great people and training for salespeople.

Cons

Very large organization so there’s a bit more micro-management.

Pros

Training was enjoyable, my coworkers were very friendly, pay was fair, benefits were good

Cons

My experience working at Paychex was horrifying. The training seems good, but once you’ve ‘graduated’ you are immediately thrown into a situation where you’ve been set up for failure. The supervisors are not helpful at all and very unsupportive. They micromanage your impossible to manage call volume. Expect to have back to back calls even in the “slow” queues, get yelled at by the most insanely rude customers, and have no reliable resources. Paychex managers always say that your voice matters and that you deserve to be heard, but when you speak up about the issues that arise, nothing is ever done about it and my supervisor always just said that she if she was able to manage that we are expected to do the same, and that wholistic handling is expected on all calls without providing guidance whatsoever. The metric system they have to keep track of how we’re doing unless you’re a robot, another way to set us up for failure. Leaving this job was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself with the amount of stress and energy it’s taken from me. It’s not worth the pay or your time, please do yourself the favor and find something else for your sake. High turnover rate Toxic work environment
