Pros

Flexible work hours Some opportunity to travel Canteen with free food Some good managers if you are lucky Opportunity to work with some really great people Opportunity to develop by using Ireland as a launch pad to move onto better things, USA for example.

Cons

The decision for SAP to have a base in Ireland is about being low cost Management ratio to the number employees they manage can be high. You can be left feeling not valued if you work hard and the remuneration package for the responsibilities of the role and working hard is not good. People identified and progressed to management are not based on their ability either as a Tech lead or HR manager Bad attitude to training and development; learning on the job is often said in meetings, which is really about saving money and meeting managers productivity targets. SAP push for employees to complete survey awards to be seen as a great employer rather than creating the actual lived experience on the ground. Not an environment where you can confidently express concerns in team meetings or highlight problems as these will either get ignored or in the worst case scenario the complainant becomes the problem. Increasingly silo mentality is occurring across and within teams. SAP do not retain talent, seen this over the years it is a revolving door where people are not people, but referred to as resources Work life balance has been an issue from day one

Pros

Good products. Huge customer footprint. Salary is industry average

Cons

Spectre like European leadership are crushing the life from anything resembling integrity and creativity. SAP likes to present itself as progressive and "running simple" - this is leadership hyperbole. If you enjoy spreadsheets, incredibly burdensome internal processes, your every activity monitored and critiqued. Endless gazing at dashboards, every day, evening or holiday being invaded by "managers" demanding cadence, profit before decency and a constantly changing workforce then this is the place for you.

We're sorry to hear about your negative experience. SAP is a tremendously progressive company when you look at the global initiatives working to improve people's lives inside and outside the company. Rather than surrender to internal processes that might not be ideal, at SAP we encourage our employees to take it upon themselves to improve them. At SAP, our leaders let our employees make decisions. So while we are sorry to hear you have experienced an unpleasant amount of burdensome internal processes within the company, we empower our employees to take it upon themselves to break them!

Pros

Great people, nice offices, lots of smart people to learn from, flexible work environment. Good base salary and benefits (shares etc, o/s training etc).

Cons

Extremely unrealistic targets handed down from head office in Germany means that no one in region is on target throughout the year which drives desperate / bad behaviour from management who are trying to keep their jobs. They don't care about customer outcomes, only closing deals to drive revenue. Unfortunately, this means that they have few referencable customers which negatively effects future sales processes. High level of arduous internal processes takes you away from customer facing activities. Poor internal systems. CRM is poor. 50% gate on Comms. Only expect to hit OTE one in every 3 or 4 years. Excessive forecast meetings due to poor use of bad CRM
