Pros

-Benefits -70% of your commission is guaranteed -PTO (but need to make 50 calls extra for every day you're out)

Cons

Don't get me wrong, some of your teammates will be some of the best friends you could ever have, however, there will always be a couple of people who will listen in on everything the team talks about and then go off and share it with upper management so they can gain favor over you. That information will be used against you and eventually you will be ousted. Where they preach inclusiveness - it is anything BUT! These are some of the most clique-y people you will ever meet, and unless you're in the club you don't get to have all the advantages others do. If you're in the "clique" you get to log fake meetings, have the best territories with the best AE's, who will spoon food you 7 opportunities+ every month. Non-negotiable metrics are 1000 calls, 500 emails, 120 connects, 7 stage 2 opportunities (meaning there is a chance they could buy), $450,000 in S2 pipeline --> monthly. Oh and be prepared to come in the office three days a week Tues-Thurs and pay $34/day to park in the parking garage. Most of the metrics people log are bogus and fake calls, some people log fake meetings and then win MVP! Lmao the whole thing is nuts. Management is fine with it bc it makes them look good to artificially inflate the numbers. Everything that is done at this company is inflated and made to look better than it is for investors. Investors beware of this dumpster fire of a company. Even as you exit the company, all they will give you is a brief survey that will never be read by anyone. The facade of Salesforce is in their fancy office buildings and unlimited coffee, but at the center they are corrupt and rotten going all the way up the chain across multiple divisions. Our upper management forced us to come in to the office the day before a major Holiday and is routinely cruel for sport. By the way, if you don't hit 100% of your metrics month after month, your compass score will fall below 100% and then you're not allowed to move around in the company or be promoted. Only have seen 1 person from our immediate team be promoted over the course of near a year and half, yet they externally hire Account Execs often. Lastly, you could be placed on a pip and out the door within 3 days.

Cons

I don't know what the culture is like on other teams, but my team is not diverse at all. I'm the only black person on my team, and even on our larger 30 person team, there are only 3 people of Asian descent (which is nuts considering tech demographics overall), everyone else is white or white-passing, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. There has been a lot of marketing recently about Salesforce meeting its 50% underrepresented goal a year early, but that number includes all women, and if it didn't they'd never meet their goal. A lot of middle managers are not interested in diversity and definitely not inclusion. Even if you're hired here as a black employee, you won't be treated equally and people will question your experience and abilities constantly. It's demoralizing, and it explains why retention is so low. I wouldn't recommend working here unless you have a bigger goal in mind for what you want to do next.

At Salesforce, we're very intentional about creating workplaces that reflect the diverse communities we serve and fully acknowledge there is more work to be done. We’ve made more progress in some areas and less in others, but we are encouraged by the progress we've made together. Our leadership team regularly reviews comments, so we will be sure to get your feedback to the right people.
