Pros

Software as a service is a hot space; process is best of breed; excellent technology except for the persistence layer; very good people; interesting work, fantastic location and offices

Cons

incredibly political; upper management shouts a lot; most managers are terrifed to even speak. promotions are based on who you know and how loud you shout rather than how talented you are. very toxic working environment. tremendous focus on the sales automation side, with a bizarre model of hiring more and more salespeople to flog the product, guaranteeing individual salespeople's revenue will be lower; they then fire the lower 10% of all salespeople every three months, so turnover is high and morale is in the toilet. 4000 employees but only 150 engineers; very sales heavy.

Pros

Benefits Competitive salary Innovative company

Cons

Salesforce BDR leadership is a complete disaster. It’s run by people who couldn’t succeed in sales, so instead, they spend their time micromanaging, inflating their own importance, and making life miserable for their teams. There is zero investment in employee growth—your long-term success doesn’t matter to them. All they care about is hitting vanity metrics that make them look good while doing absolutely nothing to help the business. And let’s talk about integrity—because there is none. The numbers they brag about are completely manipulated, designed to give the illusion of success while hiding how little actual value they contribute. They latch onto AE deals, take credit for work they didn’t do, and push meaningless tasks just to justify their existence. If the company actually audited their data and practices, the level of incompetence and deception would be impossible to ignore. Salesforce talks a big game about culture and values, but the reality inside the BDR org is toxic, demoralizing, and dishonest. If you're looking for a company that actually invests in your success, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Pros

Great product Leader in the market Great perks

Cons

Place is going down the drain. Toxic sales culture, managers do nothing but manage forecast calls, quotas get bigger and bigger, top performers get rewarded by an even bigger quota the next year, all the good people are leaving. No one wants to do any work but the AE and then the whole world wants to take credit for it. No support provided to customers unless they pay for it. Don’t abide by their values at all.
