Pros

Decent pay, great products (with the most clinical studies), multiple areas to sell to so great exposure to a whole hospital system.

Cons

Management is a problem. Management doesn’t tell the team when members of their team are laid off, it’s very hush-hush. There were several people I worked with I didn’t know they were laid off until 3 weeks later. They claim to care about work life balance but then let people go if they didn’t “feel” they were a good fit (aka not out in the field as much as they think is necessary).. even if the person is at 100%. They are letting go of important clinical people and then expecting reps to do more work with less help. Management says one thing and then does the opposite- leaders will say to reach out to them if you need help with a customer, but then when you do they go to your manager and tell them you didn’t follow the proper chain of command and you get reprimanded. They took away cars and gas cards and so you have to buy a new car and you have to pay insurance to cover for Solventum ashwell as yourself (which is more expensive) and the territories are huge, so you’re getting paid less essentially. This would be a great place to work if you: don’t have a family and if you’re brand new to medical sales/ just starting your career.. great starting point in medical sales for exposure to good products and areas in the hospital.. but if you’re tenured and know what you’re doing in sales, I would not recommend.

Pros

Remote Nothing else beyond that.

Cons

I worked at Solventum and was really disappointed by how little support there was for employee health — especially considering it’s a healthcare company. I had to formally demand my right to take my lactation breaks (breastmilk pumping breaks), which are protected under Costa Rican labor law. The issue wasn’t “policy” — I was told I couldn’t take the breaks because my role involved taking calls. That felt discriminatory and unfair as I had to choose, in my regular breaks, between eating, going to the restroom, or pumping (and I always ended up pumping to protect my milk supply and my baby's health). No parent should have to fight for something that directly affects their health and their baby’s wellbeing. For a company in the healthcare industry, I expected more compassion and respect for basic employee needs. I hope they improve this going forward.

Pros

Money is good, products make a difference in patient’s lives. Good access to hospitals.

Cons

Leadership leaves a lot to be desired, nepotism, layoffs every year, bag and job change with no thought. BIG territories with even bigger growth expectations. Turnover is the new normal which has impacted moral.
