Pros

Working from home means no commute, no fancy clothes giving you extra time all the way around!

Cons

Technical difficulties every singe day I worked, your Team Leader never gets back to you with an answer, or I should say the correct answer, pressure to get rid of the call in under 60 seconds after playing 20 questions with the customer!

Pros

Pay is average for a low-wage area, and with the economy in the toilet you take what you can get.

Cons

Call centers are transient things, TeleTech call centers doubly so. The company clings tightly to the left side of the Bell curve in it's salary structure, so you'll never be the envy of your friends and neighbors. Management structure is in constant flux, and consistency is non-existent. Processes and procedures appear to be specifically designed to avoid achieving set processes and procedures. 60+ hour workweeks are expected in most IT positions with 24/7 on-call. Englewood is where all power and wealth are concentrated - the call centers worldwide are merely disposable yeomen expected to tow the royal barge.

Pros

Lots of younger people, made good friends. Pay and benefits are fairly good for an entry-level position.

Cons

Prepare to work horrible hours when you start. Management is more concerned with queue-clearing than actually fixing problems, which wore on me. This leads to repeat calls and angrier customers to deal with. You can fix a lot of problems in 14 minutes, but there are some issues that just need more time. Most TSRs spew BS to get the customer off the phone as fast as possible, which makes them madder and madder each time they called back. I would actually try to help get the problem fixed, but would get reprimanded for it when the call lasted 20 minutes or more. Oh well.
