Poor Management and Low Compensation in Vancouver, BC
Pros
- Great access to resources, including variety of software to develop essential engineering skills. - Friendly admin staff. - Best place to upskill for 2 years and LEAVE.
Cons
- Engineers-in-Training (EIT) are often overworked and underpaid when compared to market value. - EITs have to demand salary increases or resign first to receive a fair value offer. - Provided a promotion in title only but not salary. - Management and senior staff is severely misguided and does not understand the millennial working force. - At most, you'll get 3 % increase every year for staying loyal but new hires will get 30%. - There is no point of staying loyal and they have little to no interest in employee retention. - High turnover. - Lots of lipservice about work culture and work life balance but no real action. - Management talks too much about change and does too little.
