I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Verizon in Jul 2011
Interview
The process was extremely quick which I definitely appreciated. They got right back to me and didn't waste my time. The day after I applied online I was sent an email that stated I was selected for a phone screening. I called the HR Rep back to set up a interview time which we set up for the following day. Really nice individual. Asked questions like, "Why are you interested in working for Verizon" "Describe your phone and some of it's features" "What is your experience in retail sales" "What is your understanding of what the position entails"...etc. Basic interview questions. Took about 30 minutes. At the end of the screening I was told that I would hear back from the HR Rep within a few days on the next steps. The next day I received a call from the manager of the location I applied to set up an interview. A couple days later I interviewed with that individual. Again, general questions...maybe just slightly more difficult than the phone screen. If the phone screen was a 5, this was a 6. Questions like "What do like best about retail and what do you like least." After the interview was over the manager told me I would be contacted by the HR Rep on the next steps in a few days. A couple of days later the Rep called. and wanted to set up a final over the phone interview for the same day. This was was the most difficult interview. All behavior based questions (which I expected), but they weren't any questions that I anticipated really. Just try to prepare 5-6 stories on how you handled positives and negatives in the workplace or in school and make them work for you in your responses. At the end of that interview, the offer was extended and I can't wait to start!!!!

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Verizon (Sacramento, CA) in Apr 2009
Interview
I applied online in March, received a brief over the phone interview 3 weeks later after appliying. Scheduled an in store interview with the store manager a week later and had a followup interview 2 days after with another store manager at a different location. They called me that day to offer the position at which time I did a drug test and background check. Hire process, then training (which was awesome) and in the store by July 3rd. All together it took me 3 months before I got my first crack at selling wireless but the initial interviewing part was a breeze.
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Delafield, WI) in Jul 2011
Interview
I recieved a phone call from an HR rep about a week after submitting my app online. it was a brief phone interview with basic questions like tell my about your past jobs, why do you want to work at Verizon, etc. Really basic. From there he said he wanted to set up another phone interview the next day with someone else from HR. That one took maybe 30-45 minutes. These were a lof of situation based questions. I did lots of preparing ahead of time so I had situations ready. That interview went great and I was asked to move on to the 1:1 interview. Later that night I recieved a call from the Manager from the store I applied at. We set up an interview for the next week. The interview was with 2 managers and it was really laid back. They asked questions about my current job, my past experience in retail, a few situation questions and that was it. 2 weeks later I was called by HR and offered a position at a store in the next city over, which was fine, during the interview I was told that might happen. Overall a GREAT experience! The people were so nice, explained everything really well and were easy to talk to. I can't wait to start! Plus, benefits start right away and they are a great price!!
