Pros

Flexible hours and somewhat relaxed working environment. No hard manual labor, nothing requiring brute strength or advanced intelligence and decent wages for the amount of work plus they hire felons and don't really do background checks or drug tests. Extremely easy to get a job there....the only thing they check and won't hire is sex offenders.

Cons

Usually part-time hours and only starts at$10.00/hr, jobs can be monotonous and boring, customer base is lower income/poverty level so you have to deal with some really trashy, low rent people, drug addicts and the homeless constantly. The management is usually inexperienced and uneducated, they promote from within the company so any high school dropout or drug addict can get a job there and within a few months be promoted to manager and then be in charge of the whole store. High turnover due to juvenile and vindictive behavior by management as well as favoritism, racism, discrimination and retaliation if that behavior is reported.

Pros

No positive ones to name

Cons

They are Racist and only promote those who look like them. It doesn't matter if they have experience, education or care for those they are suppose to be serving as long as they're white they're okay to hire and/or promote. The people who do the work, blacks and browns are under paid, while the ones on top, whites, are making hundreds of thousands of dollars and receiving bonuses to match. If you are the former and have that mindset then you will flourish at Goodwill SEW.

Hard Work, Nice Co-workers

Pros

Meet a lot of new friends either common customers or co-workers Mostly friendly staff Always help if you ask for it.

Cons

No reward for going above and beyond. Pay isn't tied to amount of work that you have to do. All associates in all positions start at the same rate.(no matter the job) Go through staff fast ( A lot of high school kids . Mostly just a retail job thing) Management not really considerate when it comes to scheduling. (I've been working every saturday and sunday for the past 2 years excluding the ones I have to request off for vacation whereas other associates such as production associates can get weekends off.) No where to go with the company other than become a supervisor. Lazy co-workers that have a good enough attitude instead of a shoot for excellence attitude. Jobs ends up having one or two people doing everything in the store while other associates slack.
