Pros

The best part of the job is that they would pay us less, but the government won’t let them! So if and when they decide you are more worried about the welfare of the workers and integrity of “the mission”! You will find out what’s good!

Cons

I worked there 2 years. My friend whom I was living with died in a tragic fishing accident! I had to move inside two weeks and found myself living in a motel! Money I saved went fast and I had two choices! I could put my belongings in the woods or something and go to work or ask my boss if I could go stay with a friend outta town and regroup! She said I could go! I wasn’t gone a week when I found out I was terminated! I was told by my store supervisor not to worry! Just reapply! I did and I did not get my job back! My store supervisor had been out two months before that! Nobody considered that I asked and was granted permission and nobody bothered to mention that I was already homeless but still made it to work! That non profit budget is more important than all that garbage they spout over the loud speaker! I’ve been fighting for my life since! Nobody will tell me why this had to happen! They don’t care about your donations! They care about the bottom line! If it’s easier or cheaper to pitch it it’s gone! They have people on salary whose only job is to help employees secure a place to live during crisis. These experts didn’t know none of us make enough money to rent a room! You need to make 3x the cost of the rent ! How could they not have figured this out! Besides googling the things I already googled they did manage to enlighten me to call the county for help! These folks get paid more than the rest of us to do this and they SUCK at it! If you want to contribute to a place that takes advantage of people and lies right to your face then that’s the place for you! But I think it should be a community thing! It’s not!!!

Pros

Great hours and good opportunity to learn about the retail industry

Cons

I just started at a location in northern Ohio We've been waiting two weeks on generic, clear, plastic bags to package things in (that you can likely get anywhere) This issue will almost certainly fall back on producers, when the gm could take a half day and go get some

Pros

There really isn't any. Avoid at all costs.

Cons

Management is extremely poor, managers are rude and very impatient, lack of proper training. I wasn't told when my break was on my first day and was forced to work for TEN+ hours on a closing shift with NO break. My "training" was just to follow around a random employee and see what they do. I'm not even kidding.
