Pros

You can work from home. Nothing Else.

Cons

VERY low pay, NO raises ever, Quality Evaluations that almost always say "Meets Expectations" for everyone, no matter how good and skilled you are. They also send you Court Calls without any Training - considering how high-stakes these hearings are, this is highly irresponsible and unethical! If you request court training, they will turn you down. Yet they will provide the training to new interpreters. After approving your paid time off, they will reverse it without any notice. They pay you less than what companies pay bilingual Customer Service Agents. Benefits: Health insurance is a joke. After working for them for years, they will NEVER give you a raise, even if you request it. In fact, if you ask for anything, the answer is ALWAYS NO. They retaliate against employees who are trying to form a union. If you interpret verbatim, they will write you up for interpreting profanities (which should be interpreted). They value customer service more than accurate interpretation.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your many years of interpreting experience. Your perspective on training, communication, and support is valuable, and we take such input seriously. As interpreters who work through partner organizations are supported directly by those partners, we encourage you to reach out to your hiring partner to discuss your specific concerns. We appreciate the important work you do to help people communicate every day.

Pros

The only pro I can mention is that it’s a remote job.

Cons

When there’s an issue, it’s hard to reach anyone. They don’t really care about their employees. If you work part-time, you’re paid less even though you put in the same effort. They also reduced the hours recently. There’s also no PTO for full time employees.
