Pros

Certification from your State is not required. Online glossaries

Cons

This is a Company completely insensitive to their Interpreters No raises of income, EVER!. No Benefits. No fair wages. No paid vacations. No extra paid on Holidays and yes, most of the times you have to work.Very impersonal relationship with Management. There are no events to meet other coworkers or the rest of the Company staff for any reason. As a fact, they don't even send you a Happy Holiday Card or bonus at the end of the year or recognize your years of service . Issues with calls or schedule or technical need to be reported using the Interpreter Portal and most of the responses are automated responses that do not address at all the issue being asked. Overtime request are not responded until 2 hours before the time the shift requested starts, leaving no time to plan your day . Most of the requests are denied anyways.Managers do not communicate with Interpreters and observations are less and less frequent. The have job openings overseas instead US to pay less to their Interpreters . Meantime, there are no openings within US for the same positions

Pros

1) Work from home. 2) Good health plan

Cons

1) Very low pay 2) No Holidays off 3) Vacation time is not clear on the paycheck or on the online resource for the interpreter schedule 4) Give you a run around when personal information is needed (vacations, sick days) 5) Issues are not resolved on time. Have to send email for everything and the emails do not get answered on a time or do not get answered at all. 6) Only 30 minutes break with no chance to change it. 7) Can't take bathroom break without getting harassed within 3 minutes of being disconnect to connect back. 8) Extremely low pay for the level of sensitivity of some calls that can get recorded to be used in court for criminal cases or Health related lawsuits.

Pros

Don't have to pay gas. Dont have to deal with rude co-workers. Not physically demanding.

Cons

Managment is nowhere to be found. Don't respond to support requests. Schedules are very fixed. Not a very flexible company. Training doesn't prepare you for any of the calls. Job is incredibly stressful. Clients can be very rude and impatient. The operating systems are like 60 years old. Need more breaks. In my case, I get about 30-45 seconds in between calls to breath. Lastly, PAY IS HORRIBLE.
