with this last transition to video interpreting, no pros

Cons

they keep putting more on more responsibilities on their interpreters' shoulders, but have no intension of giving them any raise.

Pros

The payment is on time and they have an attractive location.

Cons

Arrogant and insensitive staff with no ethical knowledge of the profession = no respect for interpreters. The bookings self-assignement online makes the job being a rase roulette. Low paid and they do not pay for the travel costs and time. Sometimes they book you for 1 hour under one patient name and pull you do two interpreting jobs for two patients, saying 'you have been booked for one hour' - they pay for one job. Big speaches at the begining and at the end very low quality. Apparently they are very proud about being placed in Canary Wharf. Don't delude yourself.

Pros

You get to practice your native language on a daily basis. That's really it.

Cons

You are constantly being yelled at by people. You get minimum wage+small fee if you go over 27 mins. Meanwhile the company is getting $3/min. Benefits are awful. Breaks are short, the system is hard to work with and the salary is not satisfactory. I thought I'd be making a difference in someone's life and instead, I get calls from insurance companies and such and end up in not-so-pretty situations.
