Pros

-They hire everyone very fast and easy to get a job at, they will hire just about anyone -Flexible hours -usually very chill coworkers made a lot of friends in my time here

Cons

-They hire EVERYONE Almost none of the folks hired are very good at their job, generally poor work ethic among co-workers, many quit after a few days leaving important roles unfilled, you never know who you're working with until their colors show. -Under paid for work most positions in-store are minimum wage, most in-store positions are NOT minimum wage jobs, from difficult manual labour, arduous and painstaking tasks, and strict arbitrary quotas, to rules, regulations, and bureaucracy. You can NOT catch a break. -Poor upward mobility I've seen 2 coworkers promoted to the lucrative 2$ over minimum wage managerial position by cozying up to managers before being shipped off to another store, I've also seen 4 new-hire managers fill positions that should be filled by internal promotions of hardworking employees. New-hires have A LOT to learn in order to be effective at their position which often takes months to achieve, until then they are given too much responsibility and are ineffective at their role. -Bad nit-picky management I've personally been harassed by a manager then written up by said manager for simply walking away from an unwarranted verbal assault. Managers typically do nothing to improve the workflow of the store and instead prefer to stand around and nit-pick EVERYTHING they can possibly think of except besides things that actually need improvement, even if you are doing your job amazing they will find something to threaten your employment over. - Bureaucratic money grubbing corporate Countless efforts have been made to stifle improvement in preference of their deficit inducing actions and policies. Cuts to benefits every quarter are given when Goodwill AZ corporate continue to do nothing to improve money spending and profit margins, all the while reaping in countless thousands of dollars. You would think a business model that revolves around receiving product for free would at least be able to meet costs. backhanded comments about minimum wage are also not appreciated. -Poor working conditions I work in a brand new store that has had heat problems for the past 8 months, a common complaint from customers, and an overly prevalent issue in the back room, while the office is kept at a cool 65 degrees. After about 6 months of constant complaints from back room employees, about ten 20$ fans were mounted to most of the stations in places that hinder work speed due to stuff blowing off stations and being lost. Broken "Gaylords" have caused many injuries and accidents to myself and every other backroom employee.

Pros

Helping others achieve dreams, although due to mismanagement of resources that doesn't happen very often.

Cons

Terrible culture. Employees are unhappy, management needs leadership training.

Pros

My team was great, reliable, and cared about customers. They are the only reason I continued to work there (specifically, eCommerce. I cannot speak to working at corporate). Also, there are some really fascinating items that come into collectibles, and the overall mission serves a greater purpose.

Cons

Change is slow or non-existent, there is little opportunity for advancement in this segment of the business, few members of management understand business strategy, infrastructure is incredibly outdated, work culture is negative, and some unethical practices are engaged in.
